Psychiatrist – Inpatient Unit Chief – Adult Services
Holliswood Hospital is a 133 bed acute care private psychiatric facility located in residential Queens, New York. A great opportunity exists for a Board Certified/Eligible psychiatrist, licensed in NYS to join our team of excellence. Responsibilities include providing direct patient care and leadership to an interdisciplinary treatment team.
We offer an attractive compensation package and the opportunity to develop a private practice.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Full Time, Part-Time, Per Diem
In collaboration with Adolescent Program Chief/Adult Program Chief facilitates evaluating admissions and assessment. Position is responsible for evaluating patients and determining appropriateness for admission/referrals based on DSM IV criteria. Completes initial admitting orders. Completes adolescent history and physicals.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate admission process of patient in collaboration with MD in the admitting area.
- Triages admissions and ensures appropriate clinical information is shared with admitting and inpatient/outpatient staff.

Performs initial psychiatric evaluation/assessment at time of admission.

Completes adolescent physical evaluations; within 24-hours of admission as per policy.

Upon completion of written admitting order, prepares all other non-medical orders for assigned patient.

Completes managed care referrals as indicated.

Orders PRN and Stat Medications in conjunction with treating physicians when necessary.
-
In emergency situations, provides clinical leadership in the admitting area.

Demonstrates skill in leadership of management of aggressive behavior techniques.

Participates in the design and review of Performance Improvement projects for the Admitting Department/Medical Department.
Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry – Full-Time
Associate Unit Chief for Child Services
The Associate Unit Chief will have a physician collaborative agreement and will be working with our interdisciplinary team.

You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Child Unit and its medical/psychiatric program.

Provide daily individual psychotherapy/pharmacotherapy management including medical/psychiatric management.
-
Complete a comprehensive treatment plan on all patients; including daily progress notes on medical/psychiatric problems and their response to treatment.
-
Ensure every patient is adequately assessed and receives an integrated comprehensive individual treatment plan as per written policies and procedures.
-
Provide emergency psychiatric coverage/treatment of all patients on unit in conjunction with the treatment team and medical consultants.
-
Meet with patients, families and referents to address concerns about hospital care.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse License
Current NYS Registered Professional Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry License
Psychiatric nursing experience with demonstrated physical assessment skills.
Mental Health Workers (FT/PT/PD)
Opportunities exist on day, evening and overnight shifts. An AAS and prior experience working with a psychiatric patient population in a hospital setting is required. You will be involved in direct patient care where strong verbal communication skills will be an essential component of your role as part of an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
